TAN TIEN

TAN TIEN
Driven by progressive longboarding as explored by Loaded's riders, the Tan Tien manifests the desire to develop new tricks and engage new riding styles. From its foot-locking concave, drop-thru truck mounting and pumpable camber, to its responsive nose and tail kicks, the Tan Tien blends carve oriented longboarding with advanced trick riding. The complex contours create a super responsive board that allows for increased confidence when leaning into turns, popping tricks, and powering through slides. With the woven bamboo bottom and the funky grip design the Tan Tien is easy on the eyes. But you'll need to ride this board to truly fathom its potential.
AVAILABLE IN THESE FLEX PATTERNS:
Flex 1: Up to 270 lbs
Flex 2: 130-210+ lbs
Flex 3: 80-170+ lbs
Keep in mind that a softer flex pattern will give you more control and tighter turns at slower speeds and make it easier to slide, but tends to lose stability slightly at higher speeds. Stiffer flex means more energy potential, more stability at higher speeds, and better longevity through abusive tricks and aerial landings, but will not be as forgiving and lively when cruising. The Flex 1 is considerably stiffer so as to be appropriate for heavier riders and hardpounding thrashers alike
Length: 39" / 99cm Width: 8.75" / 22.25cm Wheelbase (inner hole): 27" / 68.5cm
Weight: Deck only: 3.1 - 3.5lbs / 1.4 - 1.6kg COMPLETE: 6.6 - 7lbs / 3 - 3.2kg
CONSTRUCTION: Epoxy and Tri-axle fiberglass sandwich a vert-lam Bamboo core, pressed into concave and convex cambers as well as nose and tail kicks. The nose and tails are reinforced with an extra layer of fiberglass for added stiffness and strength without compromising the responsiveness and energy of the central camber. DropThru cutouts are CNC milled for precision. This is the most complex board we've built to date and we hope you will appreciate the subtle beauty of the form.
Grip tape: The boards come pregripped with an aggressive black griptape designed to provide maximum coverage while allowing the board to flex naturally. This is our first foray in years into traditional grip tape (albeit grippier to match the needs of this board) and we went with this because it provides enhanced traction and control for sliding and pumping, as well as creating a serious "lock-in" on the nose and tail.
RIDING TIPS: The potential for this board has yet to be tapped. Check out some of the videos online to see what people are doing and then go out and explore. And share what you've found as we're excited to see what this board can do.
GRAPHIC: The Tan Tien is the center of gravity and the seat of the life force in yogic and East Asian thought http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dantian
For this graphic we originally commissioned Polish artist Jan Kallwej to explore East Asian themes from an Eastern European perspective. The intention was to reflect a global approach to balance and the transfer of energy. The initial design was remixed by Nana Studio. After mixed feedback we decided that both versions of the design were too busy for the serenity and harmony that the board was designed to evoke. We've been exploring the functional characteristics of woven bamboo and decided to employ it here first as an aesthetic skin. We then took the star concept from Jan's original art and centered it on the board to express the simplicity and harmony of the Tan Tien.

DERVISH

DERVISH
With a lower center of gravity and a torsionally stiff design, the Dervishes are built to hold an edge and maximize energy return. A drop-thru carver designed to work with most reverse kingpin geometry trucks and 70mm+ wheels. The dropthru design allows for easier pushing, more stability at speed, and easier sliding. It has a small flat nose and tail for manual and shovit tricks.
The Dervish was designed and intended for speeds between 0 and 30 mph (0-50km/hr). You can take the board faster with skill and experience, but it is not intended for higher speeds due to its flex characteristics.
The Dervish is available in two flexes:
Flex 1: 170-230+lbs / 77-105+kg
Flex 2: 100-185+lbs / 45-85+kg
Keep in mind that a softer flex pattern will give you more control and tighter turns at slower speeds and make it easier to slide, but tends to lose stability slightly at higher speeds. Stiffer flex means more energy potential, more stability at higher speeds, and makes air moves easier, but will not be as forgiving and lively when cruising.
Length: 41.5" / 105cm Width: 8.5" / 21.5cm Wheelbase: 33" / 84cm
Weight: deck only: 3.4 - 3.6lbs / 1.55 - 1.65kg complete: 7.6 - 7.8lbs / 3.4 - 3.5kg
CONSTRUCTION: Epoxy and Tri-axle fiberglass sandwich a vert-lam Bamboo core, pressed into concave and convex cambers for liveliness, responsiveness and high energy potential. DropThru cutouts are CNC milled for precision.
RIDING TIPS: The board is designed for a centered, snowboard style stance. Learn to footbrake and slide. These are the safest ways to slow down at speed and they will allow you to increase your skills immensely as well as keep you safe on the hills. The dropthru design allows for more lateral pressure on the wheels. A lower stance will provide more control for stand up slides.
GRAPHIC: Inspired by ancient Persian Islamic art, we've named this board the "Dervish" as a reference to the Whirling Dervishes. A sub-sect of Sufism (Mystical Islam), the Dervishes are famous for their ritual whirling dances, an aerobic flowing movement designed to produce spiritual ecstasy.

CEVICHE

CEVICHE
With a built-in tail and subtle nose kick, this is a versatile link between carving bliss and old school/street skating. Camber and concave between the kicks allows for carving and pumping, while the nose and tail create a more surf-oriented feel with lots of opportunities for tricks. Loose and agile, it's time to explore the limits of your sidewalk and hill thrashing abilities.
FLEX: One stiff but snappy flex to keep all riders happy. Multiple truck placements let you customize the feel to your taste.
Length: 33" / 83cm Wheelbase: 22 - 23" / 56-58cm
Weight: deck only: 2.6lbs / 1.2kg complete: 6.2lbs / 2.8kg
CONSTRUCTION: Epoxy and Tri-axle fiberglass sandwich a vert-lam Bamboo core, pressed into concave and convex cambers with nose and tail kicks for liveliness, responsiveness and an endless array of trick opportunities.
RIDING TIPS: The Ceviche can be ridden with a centered, slalom style stance for pumping, or off the tail for more of a surf thrash style. Learn to footbreak and slide. These are the safest ways to slow down at speed and they will increase your skills immensely as well as keep you safe on the hills.
GRAPHIC: The Fish graphic was originally designed by Jan Michael Bennett and influenced by ancient Japanese screens. The graphic was redesigned by Pablo and Diana of Nana Studio for the Fish. With the advent of the Ceviche, the graphic was baked into its current form.

VANGUARD

VANGUARD
The one that started it all. Symmetrical shape and stance for a balanced center of gravity to increase the ability to weight the deck through turns for better control and energy generation. The sidecuts allow for decreased torsional stiffness between the feet to exploit the board's torsional energy to allow for greater nuances in the turning radius.
The Vanguard was designed and intended for speeds between 0 and 25 mph (0-40km/hr). You can take the board faster with skill and experience, but it is not intended for higher speeds due to its flex characteristics.
Loaded currently offers five flexes spread out over two lengths.
42"/107cm Flex 1: 175-230+lbs / 80-105+kg
42"/107cm Flex 2: 150-210+lbs / 68-95+kg
38"/98cm Flex 3: 150-200+lbs / 68-90+kg
38"/98cm Flex 4: 120-170+lbs / 55-77+kg
38"/98cm Flex 5: 80-140+lbs / 35-65+kg
A softer flex pattern will give you more control and tighter turns at slower speeds, however a softer board is more prone to lose stability at higher speeds. If you plan on doing a lot of hard pounding tricks: shovits, bonelesses, etc, a stiff flex will hold up better.Note: It is natural for the boards to break in and become slightly flexier over time.
Length: 42"/107cm & 38"/98cm Width: 8.5"/21.5cm Wheelbase: 37"/94cm & 33.5"/85cm
Weight: deck only: 2.7 - 3.8lbs / 1.2 - 1.7kg complete: 6.9 - 8lbs / 3.1 - 3.6kg
CONSTRUCTION: Epoxy and Tri-axle fiberglass sandwich a vert-lam Bamboo core, pressed into concave and convex cambers for liveliness, responsiveness and high energy potential
RIDING TIPS: The board is designed for a centered, snowboard style stance. Learn to footbreak and slide. These are the safest ways to slow down at speed and they will allow you to increase your skills immensely as well as keeping you safe on the hills
GRAPHIC: The Vanguard graphic was originally designed by Alex Liki of Sao Paulo, Brazil for the Vanguard Graphic Contest. The graphic was reworked into it's current form by Pablo and Diana of Nana Studio. We feel that this graphic reflects the fluid experience of the board, while referencing the original Vanguard graphic designed by Travis Parr.

DANCER

DANCER
55" of dancing decadence. Years in the making and developed by the monster himself, Adam Colton. Designed with functional concerns foremost, the Dancer incorporates a flat and dampened deck for easy cross stepping, as well as built-in nose and tail kicks for effortless manuals, shovits and g-turns. Functional wheel cut outs and wheel wells enhance carving ability, while a minimal camber keeps the board damp and forgiving.
This baby is a stage for all your latest dancing moves. We know you’re feeling sharp, let the world know.
Currently available in 2 flexes:
FLEX 1: 160-230+lbs / 72.5-105+kg
FLEX 2: 100-170+lbs / 45-77.5+kg
The dancer does not have a trampoline like flex like the Vanguard or Dervish. It has a damp flex that enables you to have a very comfortable ride while still being able to board-walk and do manual moves with ease and comfort. With heavy use, the dancer will become slightly softer over time. However, it will not be a dramatic change. The board is pressed with a small amount of camber to help prevent dramatic sagging and for dampening.
Length: 55" / 1.4 meter Width: 9" / 23cm Wheelbase: 40" / 1.01 meter
Weight: deck only: 11lbs / 5kg complete: 15lbs / 6.8kg
CONSTRUCTION: Epoxy and flax/linen sandwich 2 vert-lam Bamboo cores, creating a natural fiber composite construction, pressed into a small camber with nose and tail curvatures and functional wheel wells.
GRAPHIC: The Dancer is dressed in Adam Colton’s original monster artwork. The monsters will scare away bad energy and make rough roads turn into smooth butter pavement. Unfortunately, they are allergic to sulfuric acid.
