WHAT IS THE CRESCENT BEACH CHALLENGE?

• The CBC is a family-organized fundraiser consisting of running, paddling and swimming events to honor and support those affected by leukemia, lymphoma and other blood-related cancers.

• The CBC was started in 1999 in honor of Nancy Chellemi, mother of two, who died of leukemia in 1998. Each year, the CBC continues to honor Nancy and her family by reuniting old friends and forging new friendships all while having a fun day at the beach and raising money for those less fortunate.

•The event will be held at the Marineland park immediately south of the tourist attraction. The park is located about 7 miles south of Crescent Beach main ramp (3 miles south of Matanzas Inlet.)

• Races (you can just cruise with your friends if you’re less competitive) are held in the morning with an awards ceremony and cookout to follow. Most people hang out and “beach it” the rest of the day.

• Money is raised through participant registration, contributions and business sponsorships. All proceeds are donated to the North Florida Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (www.leukemia-lymphoma.org). More than $150,000 has been donated to the Society in the previous ten years the CBC has been held.

THANK YOU TO ALL THE PARTICIPANTS & SPONSORS OVER THE YEARS!
